12 Days of Peace | Day 6: Healthy Holiday Recipe

The forecast is looking chilly with a chance of snow. Warm up the house with some easy homemade crusty bread - we promise it will add a dash of cozy to this holiday week!

Ingredients
1/2 tsp active dry yeast
3 cups flour
1 3/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cup water

What To Do: 

•mix all ingredients together in a bowl the evening before you want to bake the bread

•cover with a towel and let it rise overnight in a warm space with no draft 

•in the morning, put a cast iron pot with lid in the oven and preheat oven to 450 (with the pot in the oven) 

•flour hands and work dough into a ball - don’t over work it! 

•once oven is preheated take out pot and place dough ball into the pot. sprinkle top with flour 

•replace lid and put back in with oven for 30 minutes

•after 30 minutes remove lid and continue baking for 15-20 minutes depending on oven heat and how crusty you want it! 

•remove from pot and let cool for a bit before slicing! 

Spice things up by adding cheese or other spices to the dough when mixing!
